Versland Selection farms have their roots in the Westland. In 1992 three local auctions merged into one vegetable auction, Groenteveiling Westland. The auction location in ‘s-Gravenzande, traditionally a strong supplier of radishes, was closed in 1993. Several radish growers sought an alternative marketing channel for their products, and the basis for Versland Selection was laid.
In 2001 the farm adopted the new name Versland selection farms. During the next year, all activities were combined at one location in Poeldijk. Due to the trust shown in them by the first group of radish growers, they have built up a good reputation as a well-known brand. Currently, Versland Selection is the Netherlands market leader in radishes.
