Irfan grew up in the mountainous valley of the Kashmir region surrounding the lower part of the Himalayas. He graduated with a master’s degree in Commerce and decided to venture into the dairy farming business in his hometown in 2005. In a few years’ time, he started to see the fruit of his hard work in his profitable small business.
Growing up, Irfan has always believed that being a farmer is one of the most important jobs there is. Seeing how his forefathers worked diligently on the fields reaping crops awakened his interest in entering the farming profession. He has always been amazed at how a small seed or plant could eventually grow and yield fresh fruits and vegetables, fulfilling one of a person's primary needs.
In 2014, Irfan decided to take a big leap as he closed his dairy farm business in Kashmir and moved to the Emirates to learn more and pursue a career which he has long aimed for. Today, Irfan is happily investing his time, knowledge, and efforts into growing and harvesting his 100,000th tonne of overly delicious Vegberry cherry tomatoes through advanced high-tech hydroponic farming.
