Vitamin C

Vitamin C is measured as milligrams per 100 grams. It is a potent antioxidant that fights free radicals, is essential for the synthesis of collagen which makes connective tissues and helps wound healing. The recommended daily value for an adult is 60 milligrams per day. You’ll see what percentage of your daily amount of Vitamin C you’ll get from every serving.

Brix

Degrees Brix, usually shortened to "Brix", refers to a scale of measurement for soluble solids including sugar, pectins, organic acids and amino acids in a vegetable or fruit. A Brix of 10 means approximately 10% of the total volume is made up of soluble solids. Each product has a different ‘normal’ range of Brix since each has a typical amount of soluble solids compared with its overall volume. We add comments on the Product Passports so you can know what to expect with the products you order.

pH

pH, or potential Hydrogen, is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of a food before eating. The food we eat affects the pH level of our stomach acid, which is typically between 1.5-3.5 pH. The stomach acid activates an enzyme called pepsinogen which then becomes pepsin that is secreted by the stomach wall and breaks down food for digestion. Foods under 3.5 pH will help to activate these digestive enzymes. Products over 3.5 pH will balance out your stomach acidity when you are feeling some indigestion.

We test all products for nitrate levels. We do not continue with any suppliers who don’t meet our strict standards of nitrate levels, ensuring that you only receive the healthiest, most natural produce.
